The story of husband and wife John and Nancy Case speaks to the convenience and continuum of care CarDon provides.
When John and Nancy first began considering senior living options, their plan was to move within three years. Because of John’s unexpected health issues, they ended up looking for an independent living apartment much sooner, and they settled in at Solarbron Pointe three weeks later.
While John spent 69 days at Solarbron’s “Terrace” building for rehabilitation, Nancy found peace of mind knowing he was just next door.
“Being at the building over was so much more convenient, and I have to say the staff at the Terrace was amazing,” Nancy said.
John’s recovery has been inspiring.
“I couldn’t walk and was in a wheelchair when I first arrived at the Terrace, and the therapy team was excellent. With their help and my determination to walk again, I did,” he said.
Now fully recovered and walking without help, John has been back at the Pointe with Nancy for more than a year.
Reflecting on their time at Solarbron, John and Nancy shared, “Whether it’s the amenities, staff, dining services, or social atmosphere — it’s an A+ experience. We’ve made so many friends.”
In regard to the neighbors they’re happy to call friends, John elaborated, “At lunchtime, when you walk into a full dining room and you know everyone — it feels like a community. I just really like it here; it’s comfortable and welcoming. I feel at home.”
Nancy added, “It serves all our needs perfectly. We’re able to enjoy our independence, and we feel safe, and we’re surrounded by friendly faces.”
The couple’s advice to new residents? “Get involved. Join a table, introduce yourself and make connections. The sense of community here has made all the difference.”
