Cumberland Trace Teams Up for Airplane Pull

Cumberland Trace's "Senior Strong" team will participate in Airplane Pull.

Five senior residents from CarDon & Associates’ Cumberland Trace Senior Living community will join with five staff members to make up the “Senior Strong” team that will participate in the Republic Airways 10th Annual Airplane Pull on Saturday, April 23.

This annual event is designed to raise money for Indiana children suffering from life-threatening or terminal illnesses. Proceeds benefit A Kid Again, Indiana Wish, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent and Riley Children’s Foundation. In the last decade, the Plane Pull has raised nearly $3 million.

“Our Cumberland Trace residents are so excited to be part of this event,” said CarDon Director of Community Engagement Laurie Lasbury, BSN, RN. “When you think of people pulling an airplane, you probably wouldn’t imagine a group of senior citizens. But our assisted living residents, together with our Cumberland Trace staff members, are really looking forward to working together to raise money for children throughout Indiana.”

Open to the public, the event will feature a free Kids Zone with games and prizes, along with concessions, balloon animals and face painting for purchase. Rewards for the pull teams include the Most Spirited Team Award and 10 round-trip airfare tickets to the team with the fastest pull.
