Seniors Show Strength in Fast Plane Pull

Airplane Pull

On Saturday, April 23, five senior residents from CarDon & Associates’ Cumberland Trace Senior Living community — three of them in their 90s — joined with five staff members to make up the “Senior Strong” team that participated in the Republic Airways 10th Annual Plane Pull. The event took place at the Republic Airways Hangar at the Indianapolis International Airport.

This annual event is designed to raise money for Indiana children suffering from life-threatening or terminal illnesses. Proceeds benefit A Kid Again, Indiana Wish, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent and Riley Children’s Foundation. In the last decade, the Plane Pull has raised nearly $3 million.

“It was inspiring to see the determination of our residents and staff members,” said CarDon Chief Marketing Officer Kendra Fauth-Edwards. “They pulled a plane 15 feet in 13.31 seconds, and it’s truly something I will never forget.”

With 20 communities owned, operated or managed in the Midwest and more than 40 years of senior-living experience, CarDon & Associates provides residents — our family — with the best senior living options and personalized care.
