CarDon & Associates is proud to announce that Vice President of Pharmacy Matt Balla, R.Ph., was reappointed to the Indiana Board of Pharmacy — a position Governor Eric Holcomb first appointed him to in 2017.
Balla is one of seven board members contributing to the development and regulation of pharmacy practice in the state. Among other tasks, this involves overseeing the licensing of pharmacists, the inspection of pharmacies and the registration of controlled substances.
In the midst of a career spanning more than 30 years, Balla has served as a critical care pharmacist and ascended to various leadership roles, including the prestigious position of National Director of Clinical Operations for Ascension Health’s vast network of over 130 hospital pharmacies across the United States. Now he has reached what he considers “the highest of honors.”
“Working for CarDon is the top, as I see it,” Balla said. “I get to apply everything I’ve learned over the last 35 years to ensure that one of the most vulnerable populations — seniors — gets the very best in pharmacy care. It’s a privilege to serve the public in this way, and it’s an honor to be recognized for that service through being appointed to the Indiana Board of Pharmacy.”`
He added that, in light of National Pharmacy Week (October 15-21), “It’s a good time to recognize not only Indiana pharmacists but pharmacy associates across the country who are crucial contributors to patient care.”
